would like to address mr. gavin menzies, on his history facts, on who discovered america? he was half right, christopher columbus did not discover america, but neither did china, spainiard who set sail back in the middle 15th century, he was headed to mexico on a voyage after herman cortez sent word back to spain on the riches of gold! and silver he found! so america berestusi, set sail for mexico, in route he incountered a storm at sea,which put him in the florida keys, by mistake, which this in turn would have made him the first person and his his crew to land on american soil, ever wondered where the name, and why was this country named america!

You do not need to attack anybody to make your point.

Saying that “You other ignorant Americans need to do some serious research” is rude and unnecessary to make your point.

If you comment with critical thinking, I expect you to use basic people manners, as if you were a guest in someone’s home.

From this point forward, please use basic people manners even when you have something critical to say.

I know that the Chinese discovered America & not Columbus. The reason I know this is because I keep close watch over everything China does thru watching tv direct from Beijing on CCTV. Its in English. Anyway CHINA HAS DOCUMENTS THAT PROVE THIS Chinese guy I forget his name & his sailing fleet made many forays into America & other lands way before 1492 or Columbus. You other ignorant Americans go do some serious research. AND there was an american tv special 2 yrs ago or more which presented the exact same info of which I reference. I am American but I study Chinese culture & speak a little Chinese. I have been studying China & Asia since the 1970′s.

I am most interested in the Hypothesis presented by Gavin Menzies. In some of my personal research I have encountered some data and information that would tend to add weight to his concepts–I look forward to Obtaining the books for my Library. The Golden Gate of San Francisco was called the Golden Mouth by Chinese people who came during Gold rush- The Seafaring technology of China was quite Amazing- there are tales of chinese fisherman establishing fishing villages in California prior to Spanish/Portuguise/English exploration. Hollow Stone Anchors have been found in various California Bays- I am not sure how long these have been used if they are Neolithic or continued to be used in 18-19 centuries by Chinese Sailors. – There is folklore that says that before European exploration and settlement there was a fishing Village at the site China Beach in SF and at other sites in SF Bay region which might have been Abandoned due to Earthquake /Tsunami devastation- The people who might have survived might have mixed intermingled & intermarried with local Indigenes Triblets Families of Californian Native Americans.

While I’m sure you support Menzies due to the fact that he appeared on the rainmaking radio show (I’ve seen the Youtube vids), I’ll take your support of him as a reciprocating act of kindness: His presence on the show gave you a bit of publicity. Pffft.

Well then, I’ve read the book. Read it in between class breaks at my school. The entire book reads like a novel and not an honest to goodness work of history. Far too many assumptions and Menzies’ personal injections make it quite unpalatable. I’ve read input about his endeavors on a lot of websites (Chinahistoryforum for one) and many shoot down his theories. Mind you, these are people who are into studying Chinese history, whether they’re Asian or not.
Oh, then there’s the controversy he roused up when he belittled the Maori of New Zealand saying they’re essentially the products of rape (against Chinese whores no less). That’s one way to cement great relations with the indigenous folks. Even reinforcing white supremacist groups claims against native Maori with the entire idea that the patu paiarehe are either white (which these supremacist groups claim as a manner of invalidating treaties signed with the Maori) or Chinese. Either way it leaves a rather horrible colonial taste in the mouths of indigenous people and is a reason why Waikato University asked Menzies to drop them as a source. Oh, but we’re not here to think about the repercussions against indigenous people or what THEY make of their own history. Oh no, we’re just in the way of your playful fantasies to satisfy YOUR curiosities. Maybe if you were born into one of many disenfranchised native groups on this earth you’d be thinking twice about telling any native person, Indian or not, to “refrain from being offended” (like I haven’t heard that one before). Now, I’ll just allow this comment to be deleted or be completely misconstrued as a misunderstanding on my part because as we all know: Native input is “fantasy” unless it corroborates non-Native half-truths aka “we don’t care what an Indian thinks or has to say”.

You are welcome to have your reaction and input. It certainly does not sound like you read his book at all. Perhaps you should take your time as I and many others have and read the evidence, not just by Gavin Menzies, but also by Charlotte Rees, who wrote
the book Secrets of The Ancient World that even surpasses Gavin’s findings showing that the Chinese were here thousands of years
before Columbus. You may want to pick up that book as well and hear that interview. If you can try to refrain from being
offended by such discoveries and become like a child in your spirit to learn new things, discovery may be very exciting. It’s just part of revisionist history. Few challenge the history that has been taught over the years and we blindly believe everything we are told.

How can one even discover territory already occupied by people thousands of years prior? LOL The only folks no one dares to question to further their search for “knowledge” (ie usurping Native history) are Natives themselves. Were American Indians the builders of earthen mounds and other monuments? According to most folks who subscribe to Menzies and other hacks, nope. I guess we were too stupid or ignorant to figure out for ourselves what others around the world did. Give it a rest.

Right， Geoff Wade contacted someone named Jin Guo Ping from Portugal, Jin then contacted several Chinese scholars warning them to label Liu Gang’s “world map” as fake or suffer the consequence of losing face to the “international academia”.
That’s why there were Chinese “experts” denouncing Liu Gang’s “world map”(which would add more weight to Gavin Menzies 1421 hypothesis) the minute it is displayed.

However there was a Chinese scholar who also received Jin Guo Ping’s warning did not listen to him. Even though he is also skeptical of Menzies book, he did not think it’s the right thing to do as to labeling Liu Gang’s map as “fake” without having examined it first. Menzies maybe a “liar” in the eyes of those so called scholars, but those so called scholars can have some “unscholarly” behaviors.

So the skeptics from “international academia” happily used the quick negations from those Chinese scholars to their advantage.
