<itunes:summary>As Haiti captures our attention, many are scrambling to help. Some of us have flown there. Others are staying close to sources who are there. Still others think the mainstream news provide an accurate picture as events unfold. But news is not the final word on real events.

This show's guest is Alystar McKenneh (http://roadtosturgis.net) (filmmaker, writer, and producer of Peace Keepers (http://www.youtube.com/user/Alystar3#p/a/u/0/JRFsO6_ERDU)). Alystar flew to Mississippi and drove into Katrina five days later on her motorcycle. She has important stories and insights to share with us about what it's like to be on emergency ground.

Alystar is launching a one-woman motorcycle ride for a two-month, 10,000-mile adventure called "Road To Sturgis (http://roadtosturgis.net)". Join us as we learn what one person can do to help after one of the worst emergency disasters in US history.

<itunes:subtitle>Delores Logsdon, humanitarian and author of "So You Hate To Cook", tells us about living through the Great Depression. Tune in for a remarkable story about the power of faith.</itunes:subtitle>
<itunes:summary>Delores Logsdon is a mother, grandmother, and the author of So You Hate to Cook (http://www.amazon.com/You-HATE-Cook-Dolores-Logsdon/dp/B0014HMYRA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260903956&sr=8-1). This remarkable nonagenarian lived through the first Great Depression and has many wonderful stories to share with us about motherhood, business, and helping individuals and families in troubled times for over 60 years.

We so rarely get to hear from the sages of our time. Delores is like a modern-day Mother Theresa - a living legacy of the power of faith to carry us through the greatest personal challenges. Her husband died suddenly after a few short years of marriage, leaving Delores to raise five children alone. She spent most of her life helping young pregnant mothers, raising children, and running her own restaurants. She also got heavily into real estate, made and lost a great fortune, and lived to tell about it.

After a quadruple bypass, her life has slowed down considerably. Although she can barely walk these days, her spirit is strong. If we encourage her to finish her next book about the Great Depression, maybe she will be motivated to give it to us. She is a living inspiration, and it is my pleasure (and honor!) to interview her and partake in the wisdom she has gained throughout her life.
