Milk and milk products have been a staple of the human diet since antiquity. Unfortunately, our love affair with dairy makes it difficult to gain perspective on it, despite overwhelming scientific evidence that it is bad for us. Robert Cohen, the man behind and the author of Milk A-Z and Milk: The Deadly Poison, challenges long-held assumptions about dairy in this informative interview.

Gee – the man is a mine of information. Very interesting. I had heard that milk is not the beneficial drink we think it is before but have so far not researched the topic.

I think I’ll need to listen again to this interview with my finger ready at the pause button to give me time to digest the facts.

Interesting to hear what he said about whey protein. This seemed to conflict with some info from a previous interview with a different guest… the ‘whole whey’ guy. He seems to know a lot about milk and most if not all is information which seems to dismiss any benefits from diary products.

Are there no benefits *at all* from drinking milk? Or is it just that drinking milk is more detrimental, health-wise, than it is beneficial?

I wonder what Jay Robb and Dr. Michael Colgan would say about this. They assert that Whey Protein is the most bio-available protein on the planet. Our guest knows a tremendous amount about dairy. Robert Cohen is one of the key people in the world who has done the due-diligence about Milk and Dairy products. His perspective and experience as a Vegan may impact how he imparts the information to us, but, nevertheless, he’s very knowledgeable. Thank you to Rebecca Hanna for suggesting him as our guest.

This guy is nuts! He’s going on an all-banana diet? Bananas are the one crop that use more pesticides than any other crop produced on the planet. And yes, commercial bovine milk products are really gross and bad for you, in addition to having
a hormone that produces tumors. What about fresh home-grown goat’s milk? It does not have the tumor-producing hormone, no pesticides, and lots natural nutrients a human metabolizes beautifully. Yes, he’s very sensational, but it’s time he got his facts straight.

Thanks for listening and commenting. Robert is “Unusual”, not “nuts”. You are right about bananas and what is done to them. In fact, here is a link to that information. Robert did not say that he eats bananas that are not organic. I would hold out on that and not make too many assumptions. I heard, but don’t know for a fact, that goat cheese is really good for you compared to other cheeses. Here is that link on bananas:

Robert Cohen is one of my heroes. I learned so much from his book that I convinced my whole family and some friends to switch to rice and almond milk. They are completely happy with it. All I had to say to one of my sons was that cows milk is for baby cows, not baby or adult humans and he had an instant revelation. He started using rice milk the next day. As a vegan myself, I know that all vegetables have protein in them. This has been left out of our everyday, common knowledge base on purpose. The meat and dairy industry benefit from that omission. I do not miss dairy. This was a great show! Thank you so much for having Robert on as a guest.
